Name:Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval finds

Summary

Fieldwalking in 1996 recovered an early medieval bowl rim with thumb impressions, a medieval pottery sherd and an undated inscribed and decorated finger ring. Metal-detecting in 2014 and 2015 recovered Late Saxon pottery sherds; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins, including a Late Saxon coin converted into a pendant; medieval jettons and Roman and Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman drop handle from a piece of furniture and a pair of tweezers; a Middle Saxon ?pinhead; Middle/Late Saxon brooch and hooked tag; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead weight or spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval casket key, harness pendant, thimble, copper alloy unidentified object, lead pot mends, lead seal matrices and lead weight; medieval/post-medieval lead weights, a lead window came, copper alloy sieve fragment and copper alloy vessel leg and a post-medieval clapper bell fragment.
