Summary
Fieldwalking and metal-detecting at this location between 1997 recovered Neolithic and Bronze Age worked flints; potentially prehistoric burnt flints; Iron Age, Roman and medieval pottery sherds; an undated glass fragment; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton; a post-medieval token and a range of other, Early/Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an Early/Middle Saxon buckle; medieval buckles, a strap end, mount and chape; a medieval/post-medieval thimble, coin weight and copper alloy possible vessel fragment and a post-medieval shoe buckle, furniture fitting and pendant.
