News of a new development with the Heritage Explorer website.
The archaeological records which can be accessed through this website are summaries of a large amount of material which is held in the Norfolk Historic Environment Record archives. Most of this archive is paper based, but an increasing proportion of it is held digitally and wherever possible we are trying to make these digital files available to download from the record pages of this website. To date, we have made large numbers of archaeological reports and other documents available to the public, and we are hoping to make many more files available in the future.
Regular users of the site will know that until now the links to these documents have appeared in the records as 'related document', with users having to download the file to find out exactly what it is - now the site has been updated so that the link carries the description of the file so that the users can identify the file they want.
We would be very pleased to hear your comments on this new development, either by posting them below or by contacting us directly.
