Name:Medieval earthworks and multi-period finds

Summary

This is the site of a medieval moat, which was visible as an earthwork until it was destroyed by ploughing in 1990. Medieval ridge and furrow and other linear earthworks are also visible on the site. An Iron Age coin, an Iron Age brooch, an Iron Age ram's head mount, Roman coins, a Roman brooch and medieval and post medieval coins and metalwork have been found by metal detecting. Pottery dating from the Roman to the post medieval periods has also been found.

Visited 6 August 1980.
Moat is small and rectangular, with a wooded island and external banks. The rest of the field has apparent ridge and furrow, and other mounds.
