Metal-detecting between 1996 and 2022 recovered post-medieval pottery sherds; undatable copper alloy casting waste; Late Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and various other, Late Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Bronze Age copper alloy awl; Roman brooches, a bracelet, possible neck ring fragment, military buckle pin and cosmetic mortar; a Roman to post-medieval unidentified lead object; an Early Saxon brooch lead knob from brooch or brooch mould; a Middle/Late Saxon silver strap end; a Late Saxon bridle cheekpiece; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval dagger scabbard chape, possible book fitting, coin weight, spoon knop, copper alloy and lead seal matrices (including one depicting a lion and a tree) and a lead spindle whorl; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment and unidentified copper alloy and iron object and post-medieval harness mounts, thimbles, book clasps, a rotary key, knife cap, suspension plate from sword-belt hanger, cast copper alloy hollow ball of uncertain function, copper alloy mould for musket balls or sweets and lead cloth seal.
