Summary

Metal detecting recovered a variety of finds dating from the Roman to the post medieval period. These include a Roman seal box lid, a Middle to Late Saxon balance arm and a post medieval mount. Roman, medieval and post medieval coins were also found.

Oval mount with two flanges and lead on reverse. ?Post medieval; belt or furniture.
Identified by J. Davies (NCM) and S. Margeson (NCM).

Roman seal box lid, square, 2nd to 3rd century. Unusual curvilinear blue-enamel decoration; in Celtic style.

Middle Saxon/Late Saxon balance-arm, broken in antiquity at mid-point where rod thickens out. Pierced terminal with suspension ring and squared moulding at end of arm.
