Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking between 1990 and 2017 recovered undated, Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; an undated quern stone fragment; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins, including a Late Iron Age/Roman issued coin of Caligula or Claudius; medieval and post-medieval jettons and Late Iron Age to Early Saxon and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Late Iron Age/Roman Colchester type brooches; Roman brooches including a Polden Hill brooch, a prick spur, furniture fitting, coin blank and a ring; Early Saxon tweezers and bucket mount; a Late Saxon weight or pin head and a disc brooch; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval stud in the form of a crowned head, an ampulla, locking key, balance and two bronze cauldron feet; a medieval/post-medieval fragment of chafing dish handle, a silver dress hook, scabbard chape and weight and a post-medieval book clasp and harness fittings.
