Three sides of possible enclosure, with entrance gap on west side. East side of enclosure not visible as cropmark.

The cropmarks of a rectilinear enclosure, of probable Roman date, and additional linear features are visible on NLA oblique aerial photographs from 1977 (S1). The site is centred on TG 0923 4059. The cropmarks visible indicate three sides of a possible rectilinear enclosure, centred on TG 0921 4060. It measures 45m by at least 26.5m. A narrow ditch to the northeast of the visible enclosure ditches may indicate the line of the fourth/eastern ditch, however it is not the same width and therefore may relate to another element of the site. Halfway along the western boundary is a 5m wide causeway or entrance. This appears to have a perpendicular linear associated with it, to the immediate south of the entrance. To the west of the enclosure are two parallel linear features, 6m apart and up to 21m long. This may be defining part of a trackway. To the south of the enclosure is a linear feature running from TG 0923 4058 to TG 0928 4059. The definite date of these linear features is unknown, however, the morphology of the enclosure would suggest that it is Roman in date.
