Name:Probable Roman settlement

Summary

Roman pottery was found during the digging of a water pipe trench at this spot. Later metal detecting recovered over forty Roman coins, Roman brooches and medieval and post medieval metal finds including a medieval lead ampulla and a post medieval hooked tag. The amount of Roman pottery and coins discovered in this small area suggests this was an area of Roman settlement.
