Full description
November 1988. Metal detecting finds. Field mistakenly referred to by local press as 'Ormesby Roman Villa'.
Roman coins, sherds and bricks.
Medieval cauldron fragment and dagger pommel.
Post medieval sherd.

2 Roman amphora sherds from same vessel, 2 rims of greyware, 1 body sherd, 1 decorated and 1 possible Samian sherd.
1 Roman brick fragment.

1 Roman greyware sherd, 1 Oxon colour-coated ware flanged bowl sherd.
Context 3.
1 Roman greyware sherd, 1 amphora fragments from the same vessel.
1 very large Staffordshire stoneware base.
Lead-glazed earthenware sherds.

Cropmarks of three ring ditches, a field system, and a trackway previously recorded under this number were moved to new Monument records following interpretation of aerial photographs.
A ring ditch and field system noted on aerial photography in 1977 are now recorded under NHER 27355 (ring ditch) and NHER 27340 (field system).
A second ring ditch located to the east and included on St Joseph's list is now recorded under NHER 42461.This is the easternmost of the three.
A third ring ditch and a trackway located to the west is now recorded under NHER 27351 and has been reinterpreted.

All Notes regarding the cropmarks have been transferred to the relevant records.
The extent of this record has not been altered and therefore still reflects the extent of the cropmarks rather than the location of the finds as insufficient data is available to be certain of the area metal-detected.
