Summary

Fieldwalking in the 1990s recovered prehistoric flint implements including scrapers, flakes and a notched piece, as well as a dense concentration of Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery. Metal-detecting between 2015 and 2019 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins (including a number of Roman asses likely to represent a dispersed hoard or purse loss) and a number of other metal objects, including a Roman lock bolt and terret; a medieval finger ring and harness mount and a post-medieval buckle and silver cufflink.

1990s. Fieldwalking (semi-systematic).
Prehistoric flint implements including scrapers, flakes and notched piece.
Dense concentration of Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery in southwest corner of field near Brandon Parva church.

8 Roman coin (including 7 asses of the Flavian dynasty likely to represent a dispersed hoard or purse loss) and a strap-mounted and skirted terret.
1 post-medieval coin, a buckle and silver cufflink.

The post-medieval silver cufflink was disclaimed as Treasure (Ref: 2022 T998) and returned to the finder. As the coins likely to represent a Roman hoard are base metal and currently number under ten they do not qualify as Treasure.
