Summary

Metal-detecting in 2003/04 and between 2012 and 2016 recovered Early Neolithic, probable Neolithic and Neolithic/Bronze Age worked flints; Roman and post-medieval pottery sherds; Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and a token and a range of other, undated and Late Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undatable copper alloy ring; a Late Bronze Age copper alloy spearhead; Roman brooches and a finger ring; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval horse harness pendant mount, copper alloy seal matrices and a copper alloy steelyard weight; a medieval/post-medieval candlestick, spur rowel, book clasp, copper alloy vessel fragments and a copper alloy ring and post-medieval rowel spurs, various bells, a harness mount, book clasp, sword-belt buckle, copper alloy and lead weights and a lead cloth seal.

Previously recorded under NHER 39643:
Medieval copper alloy horse harness mount, bent and corroded, shield-shaped, traces of black enamel. Notch on upper edge of near corner, damage and traces of at least one notch on both sides, resulting from attachment by ?nails to ?wood. Blazon: Sable a cross engrailed ?Or/Argent. If the cross was originally gilded (Or) then probably the arms of UFFORD, Robert de, of Suffolk.
