Summary

Metal detecting at this location during 1991-92 recovered a variety of metal objects. Noteworthy finds included a beautiful medieval cast bronze sword pommel, a Roman zoomorphic brooch, a Roman copper alloy pin, a medieval square stud from a horse harness and a post medieval double looped buckle.

1991. Metal detecting find.
Lovely cast bronze disc pommel from sword- probably 15th century. One face; shield lozenge, red enamel traces. Other; shield with lion rampant, red enamel traces.
