9 November 1986. Found while beating.
Side of Newfound Hill.
Beautiful polished flint axe, ceremonial use, (S1).

6 April 1987. Fieldwalking for half an hour by J.J. Wymer, [2] and [3].
Thin scatter flakes only.
Eight flakes with 50m radius on field side of axe findspot. All crudely struck and undiagnostic but prehistoric.

Presumably this is the axe now displayed at the Glandford Shell Museum where it is labelled as 'found half a mile west of the church'.
