Summary
Metal detecting and fieldwalking have recovered a wide range of finds. These include prehistoric worked flints, Roman and Saxon coins, fragments of Middle Saxon pottery, Roman, medieval and post medieval metal finds and a Late Saxon Scandinavian type weight. Similar type weights have also been found near Sheffield. The concentration of Roman and Saxon finds suggests this was an area of Roman and Saxon settlement.
