Summary

In 1798 six cremation urns were discovered when a mound was levelled. They were probably Bronze Age. The exact location of this discovery is unclear.

Full description

1798. In removing mound of earth 'by roadside near Mayton Bridge'.
Six urns were found of well baked earth with calcined bone.

1975.
No sign of barrow in surrounding ploughed fields. Ground very irregular and sunken; perhaps quarried?
