Record Details

NHER Number:40570
Type of record:Monument
Name:Site of Iron Age and medieval settlements and multi-period finds

Summary

Late prehistoric, Neolithic, Bronze Age and undated flint fragments, including a late prehistoric retouched flint, and a Neolithic to Bronze Age flint scraper, Iron Age pottery and a spindle whorl and Roman pottery, found while metal-detecting. The large amount of Iron Age pottery recovered indicates that this is the site of an Iron Age settlement. A pair of medieval tweezers and other medieval and post-medieval pottery found by metal detecting suggest that this was also the site of a settlement in the medieval period.
