Summary

Metal-detecting between 1994 and 2004 recovered a medieval coin and post-medieval token; aswell as Roman to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; an Early Saxon brooch; Middle Saxon furniture fittings, a strap-end, and a pin; a Late Saxon strap-end; a Late Saxon/medieval stirrup; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval brass scroll, brooch, candle holder, harness mount, and mirror case; a medieval/post-medieval scabbard; and a post-medieval rowel spur. The medieval brass scroll comes from a monument to William de Grey in St Peter's Church (NHER 8945); it fits perfectly into a gap in the stonework and matches adjacent scrolls.
