Name:Multi-period pottery sherds and post medieval strap fitting

Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting has recovered a post medieval strap fitting and fragments of Roman, Early Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery was also found. The strap fitting is in the shape of a six petalled rosette. The Roman pottery included two pieces of samian. Metal detecting in 2009 recovered a medieval coin, 'me/post medieval weights and a post medieval mount.

April 1998. Fieldwalking and metal detecting. Location [1].
Early post medieval belt mount in the shape of a six petalled rosette. Sturdy attachment spike on reverse.
Roman twenty eight sherds greyware.
Roman two samian.
Early Saxon one sherd
Medieval twenty three sherds
Late medieval transitional one sherd
Post medieval nine sherds.
