Summary
The cropmarks of a possible Neolithic long barrow are seen on aerial photographs. A series of breaks are visible in the features eastern ditch. The breaks in the ditch have been suggested to possibly relate to entranceways to access the centre of the feature or possibly relating to post holes.

Full description
The linear features discussed below have now been recorded separately as NHER 65791. The double ditched trackway has also been recorded separately as NHER 65792.
28 June 1990. NAU aerial photography.
Several linear features crossing each other at angles, and a double ditched trackway alongside and paralleling the present east-west road.
E. Rose (NLA) 26 January 1996.
15 July 1996. NLA aerial photography.
Cropmarks of long barrow at TG 2353 2682 with evidence of six large pits at east end of feature (reminiscent of megalithic type tombs), which presumably held large timber upright posts.
N.B. site respected by parallel ditches which abut to it - cursus?
Copy of air photograph in file.
D. Edwards (NLA) 17 July 1996.
15 July 1996. NLA aerial photography (S1).
Cropmarks of long barrow showing clearly, also associated linear feature, previously interpreted as a possible cursus.
S. Massey (NLA) 15 October 2001.
September 2006. Vertical Aerial Photograph.
Cropmarks of the long barrow, and linear features show clearly on Google Earth imagery.

The cropmarks of a possible Neolithic long barrow (see above) are seen on aerial photographs (S3-S7). The feature consists of an elongated oval enclosure which may have related to the site of a Neolithic long barrow. A series of breaks in the eastern ditch or possible pit features are visible on the aerial photographs. The breaks in the ditch have previously been suggested (see above) to have possibly related to entranceways for access to the centre of the enclosure or for access to a possible internal mound. It is also possible that the features may have related to post holes. On some of the aerial photographs the eastern end of the feature appears as a continual, possibly shallow, ditch feature. This has been mapped by extent and could relate to an earlier or later phase of use or may be the result of how the features appears as a cropmark. The cropmarks of a trackway (NHER 65792) which appears to respect the position of the possible long barrow can be seen in close proximity. This feature had previously been suggested (see above) to have related to a possible cursus; However, the form of the feature is more consistent with a trackway rather than a cursus. A further possible Neolithic oval enclosure (NHER 65790) has been recorded approximately 390m to the west.
