1959. Context 1. [1].
Foundations of flint, mortar and a little brickwork discovered after drainage and ploughing.
Fragments of late medieval and post medieval pottery, iron slag, and bronze skillet leg.
Site of medieval farm?

Above site clearly visible as cropmark of moated site, under growing cereal, with considerable irregularities.
Within moat were many brick fragments, dark soil patches, oyster shells, bones, glazed and late medieval sherds.
To east at [2]: another rectangular enclosure, no finds.
At [3]: a prehistoric pot boiler concentration.
Context 2: a third rectangular enclosure, with a spread of medieval sherds and quern fragments.
Context 3: a fourth enclosure produced no concentration of finds, but six medieval sherds were recovered from the general area.
Addenda - also from context 1: part of a ?vessel - rivetted bronze sheet.

Gorgeous 15th century gold iconographic ring showing the Trinity in central panel, flanked by narrow panels containing engraved flowers within pelleted borders. Shoulders and hoop decorated with alternately pelleted bands and flowers. [10].
Medieval lead square sheet counter or token, with merchant's mark including a 'W'.
Medieval cast lead token with intricate cast 'openwork' star in low relief.
Late medieval lead disc with arms of England and border containing rosettes made of pellets; similar rosettes around shield in centre.
15th century purse bar fragment, one arm with 'twisted' knob terminal.
Fragment of flange of medieval horse harness boss with rosette in low relief, iron on reverse from attachment bar.
Late medieval/early post medieval lead disc, ?broken, cast merchant's mark on one face, plant motif on other.

October 2011.
Further study of aerial photographs suggest this is a lost medieval settlement located on the Guestwick / Hindolveston parish boundary. A moated site and several enclosures are visible and associated with numerous medieval and early post medieval finds. No settlement is shown in Faden or on the 1st edition Ordance Survey mapping.
