Summary

Fieldwalking recovered prehistoric flints and pieces of Iron Age, Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pot. An area of prehistoric burnt flints, possibly a burnt mound, was also located. This is also the site of Low Common Farm, a medieval to post medieval farmhouse.

One Roman grey.
One shelly Roman or St Neots.
Twelve medieval unglazed.
One reduced with internal glaze probably medieval.
Six glazed Grimston including one post medieval.
Two post medieval stoneware.

Context 1B.
One flint.
Twenty five medieval unglazed.
Twelve glazed Grimston.
One medieval glazed, micaceous with red inclusions.
Seven late medieval/transitional.
One post medieval bichrome.
One late post medieval glazed.
One hard grey probably post medieval.
Seven glazed red earthenware.
One post medieval stoneware.
Two unidentified unglazed.

Seven flints.
Three Roman coarse.
One Roman grey.
Twenty two medieval unglazed.
Four glazed Grimston.

(S2) describes this as the site of Low Common Farm, demolished in recent times. Medieval and post medieval pot was collected from here and the field nearby. This was one of a group of buildings around the edges of the Low and High Common.
