Full description

November 1986. Metal detecting finds in northwest end of field opposite Church Farm.
Late Saxon openwork copper alloy box mount. This find was reidentified as a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount by D. Williams in 1997, see Monograph (S1).
Copper alloy face mask, almost certainly side knob from Early Saxon florid cruciform brooch: remains of two pierced transverse lugs on back, for securing axis bar. See Photograph (S2).
