Summary

This pair of early 19th-century lodges flank the north-east entrance to Kimberley House (NHER 8919). They have colour-washed brick wall and slate roofs and were both extended in the second half of the 20th century. Between them are piers supporting wrought-iron double-leaf gates.

Lodges, gates and gate piers to Kimberley House (NHER 8919).
Previously recorded under NHER 8919.

July 1972. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description excerpt:
"Pair of lodges, gate piers and gates. Early 19th century. Colourwashed brick. Slate roofs. Square plan in one storey. Each side with a rounded recessed panel pierced by a sash with radial bars to the heads. Pyramid roofs with central stacks. South lodge with extension added 1960, north lodge extension 1989. Lodges linked by wrought-iron pedestrian gates to central pair of square section piers. Piers support wrought-iron double-leaf gates below ornamental overthrow.
INTERIOR. Simple. High coved ceilings."
