Summary
This was one of two postern gates on the northern line of King's Lynn Town Defences. Its precise location is unknown but it took its name from the nearby chapel of St Ann.

Full description
(S1) notes that documentary sources refer to St Ann's or St Agnes's Gate, which was 'doubtless' named from a conventual chapel in the neighbourhood. This gate was north of the Purfleet, somewhere in the Newland. (S2) presumes a location close to St Ann's Fort (NHER 64052).
Some sources suggest that this is the same as the Doucehill Gate (NHER 64054).
