A World War Two structure, probably a sentry post associated with Earsham USAAF bomb store, is visible on aerial photographs. This was one of several such posts located on roads leading into the area of the bomb stores (NHER 43781, 41373, 43549-50).

Full description

June 2006. Norfolk NMP
A World War Two structure, probably a sentry post, was is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). This structure was located at TM 3142 9170 adjacent to Pound Lane at Hedenham. It related to a dispersed USAAF bomb storage facility that had its headquarters at Earsham Hall (NHER 41375) (S3). The bomb stores were located in woodlands and alongside the roads around the hall. This structure comprised a small, pitched roofed hut and was probably a sentry post marking the northeastern limit of the bomb stores in this area. Similar sentry posts were present on roads to the northwest (NHER 43781), west (NHER 41373) and south (NHER 43550).
