M. Horlock (NLA) 7 January 2003.

September 2004.
(S1) states that at least one concrete bomb store within Honeypot Wood was destroyed by undermining, in 2004 . Work carried out by [1].
E. Rose (NLA) 27 September 2004.

November 2011.
All of the features shown on the OS mapping appear to be extant, and others not shown, including the concrete tracks, substantial earthwork banks, walls and buildings. The last are generally well-preserved. The features shown on the mapping in the open area to the south of Honeypot Wood are covered by dense undergrowth and brambles.
Digital photos (S2) were taken from the entrance to Honeypot Wood from the east, walking clockwise around the wood and then beyond the wood to the south.
D. Gurney (HES), 30 November 2011.

September 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The Second World War bomb store described above, which was part of Wendling Airfield (NHER 7275), is visible as structures and earthworks on aerial photographs (S3-S4) and visualised lidar data (S5). The features were primarily mapped from the lidar data, on which they are visible as earthworks, but additional structures were mapped from the aerial photographs, or, where relevant, from modern Ordnance Survey Mastermap mapping (S6). Trackways have for the most part not been mapped, as it was not always possible to tell whether they were surfaced, and they are for the most part depicted in modern Ordnance Survey mapping. Due to tree cover over most of the site, it was not always possible to verify whether structures visible on the 1940s aerial photographs were still in place. Features thought to relate to the earlier use of Honeypot Wood, prior to the Second World War phase of activity, are recorded as NHER 66910. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017), it is probable that the earthworks still survive. Similarly, structures depicted in the modern Ordnance Survey mapping are also likely to still be extant.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 14 September 2023.
