Full description
September to October 1998. Stray find.
Neolithic polished axe (part of). Butt end of a polished flint axe, severely damaged by burning. Polish is patchy, leaving extensive flake scars but extends close to the butt. Lateral edges are smoothed by polishing and one edge has slight fracetting. Flint is brown to grey brown and glossy with a low level of patination.
