Summary

This was the site of a settlement during the medieval period.
Metal-detecting between 1998 and 2014 recovered Roman and medieval pottery sherds; medieval brick and roof tile fragments; medieval and post-medieval coins and jettons and undated, Roman, medieval and post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undated unidentifiable objects; a Roman steelyard weight and an important example of a die stamp used in the manufacture of disc brooches; a medieval annular brooch, barrel padlock, key and copper alloy vessel fragment and medieval and post-medieval dress accessories, harness fittings, spur fragments, weights and coin weights.
Cropmarks previously recorded under this number are now recorded under NHER 38448 and NHER 38463.

THE CROPMARKS PREVIOUSLY RECORDED UNDER THIS NUMBER ARE NOW RECORDED UNDER NHER 38448 (THE RING DITCH) AND NHER 38463 (LINEAR AND DROVEWAY).

Medieval gilt copper alloy hook attachment from a spur. The plate is circular and 18mm in diameter. One sturdy hook survives, but the other is broken off (old break). Now very corroded.
