Summary

Metal-detecting between 1992 and 2012 recovered Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a medieval tile fragment; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval/post-medieval jetton and undated, Iron Age, Roman, Early Saxon, Middle Saxon and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Iron Age and Roman brooches; a Roman buckle and finger-ring; Early Saxon dress accessories, a disc brooch made of silver and garnet and an axe-shaped harness mount; a Middle Saxon hooked tag; medieval dress accessories, an ampulla, seal matrices, padlock, part of a mirror, a stylus and a coin adapted into a mount; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a finger-ring; a post-medieval finger-ring, buckle, mount and strap fitting and undatable metal-working waste.

This possible coin brooch was submitted as potential Treasure (Treasure case 2011 T755), declared treasure at inquest on 24 December 2013 and subsequently donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2014.20).
