Full description

Post medieval defensive structure.
Large subrectangular pill box, of concrete, now apparently in use for something as locked up.
Mortar spigot adjacent.
Visited by E. Rose (NAU) April 1987.

The mortar spigot is Survey No. B2-8.

1940 anti tank emplacement consisting of 2 type 28 blockhouses (NHER 23515), spigot mortar gun emplacement and antitank blocks to northwest.

Pillbox and spigot mortar base in very good condition, the former still secured by a metal locked door, grilles on the smaller loopholes and the main loophole infilled with concrete.

World War Two Type 28 pillbox plotted from aerial photographs (S2), measuring approximately 8m square, located at TF 6635 3684. To the immediate south of this at TF 6636 3683 is a spigot mortar base. These features are associated with the anti tank roadblock to the northwest (SMR 32385) and a second Type 28 bill box 150m to the south (NHER 23516).
