Summary

In 1958 a pit for baking bricks was found on this site during the construction of a pigsty. In 1963 the wall of a barn on this site was blown down and bricks of lightly baked mud, thought to have been produced in the pit, were recovered. The associated house is thought to date to around 1720.

Full description

1958. Found when building pigsty; pit for baking bricks.

1963. Wall of barn blown down.
Two half-bricks of lightly baked mud from it presumably baked in the pit, presented to King's Lynn Museum. Barn is said to have had stone inscribed 174-. House is said to date from 1720.
