Summary

A later 17th century possibly timber framed house with a south gable that may be from an earlier building and late 18th or early 19th century brickwork to the north, east and west. The walls were raised and the roof replaced in the 19th century. Nearby is a red brick barn that probably began life as a timber framed building, though nothing can be seen of that today. The ends are 17th century, but the main body is now 18th to 19th century and the roof and outshuts 19th century.

March 2000. Barn only inspected.
It probably did begin as a timber framed building, of which nothing remains; the ends are in 17th century brick but the centre is now of 18th/19th century brick and the roof and outshuts are 19th century.

March 2004. House inspected.
It may well have been timber framed but dates to the later 17th century rather than the 16th; it is possible the south gable wall may belong to an earlier house. It is not of opposed-entry plan, the window in the blocked door is not 17th century; the side walls are of late 18th/early 19th century bricks rather than 17th and the heightening and roof are 19th not 18th century.
