Full description
1983 to 1984. Hales Survey site 109.
Field northwest of Wood Farm (includes north-west salient, former separate field, but nothing found in this).
Sticky clay-loam, well-shot barley. Reasonably good.
Sherds etc in two areas.
Context 1 at 3539 9581. Concentration 48m north to south by 38m east to west, in southwest corner of field 57m from east hedge and 9m from south.
22 rims medieval unglazed jars and bowls; 1 rim and pouring lip unglazed Medieval jug 126 bodysherds.
Handle fragment and 5 bodysherds medieval glazed.
1 bodysherd white fabric, not now glazed - source and date?
Context 2 = location in centre of field towards east (see (S1) in file).
1 rim Early medieval jar, 1 medieval unglazed handle, fluted section.
