Summary
Fieldwalking in 1983, 1984 and 1995 recovered a number of Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds and undated objects. These included a large quantity of animal bones with boars tusks, some burnt, as well as briquetage and metal working debris.

Full description
8 December 1983. Fenland fieldwalking, reasonable rough ploughed and weathered field.
Context 1 mainly Roman scatter over field. TSJ AH.
Context 2 at 5284 1302 sparse concentration of Roman sherds along east side of roddon patches of dark staining and pottery not consistent density throughout length. Perhaps few fragments briquetage. Sparse animal bone and fired clay, very sparse post medieval pottery, occasional glass. 70m x 30m at 5 feet OD. TSJ 12
Context 3 at 5279 1307 scatter of Roman sherds in slightly dark stained silt on west side and top of medium roddon.
Adjacent to field dyke and could result from cleaning. Note that immediately next to dyke only sherds found very occasionally because soil recently harrowed and not yet weathered. Odd scraps of bone and post medieval material. 34m x 8m at 5 feet OD. TSJ 11.
