Summary
In 1981 a number of Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval, Late Saxon and post medieval pottery sherds and metalwork objects were recovered from the back garden of this property. Subsequent observations carried out in 1996 during the digging of foundation trenches observed a number of undated ditches and a modern soakaway drain.

16 August 1996. Watching Brief.
Observation of foundation trenches. U-shaped trench excavated to rear of property for footings to extension. Only part of trenches seen due to premature concreting in southern side of excavation. Three linear features observed, cut through sand which overlies clay (Contexts 4-12).
F11 - a modern soakaway drain.
F5 and F8 undated ditches.
All finds from spoil heaps modern - none retained.
