Full description
1979. Ash Cottage/Valley Cottage, Pettywell.
Found in about 10cm (4 inches) of earth excavated from under pamment floor for concreting.
Two rim sherds 12th/13th century.
Identified by W. F. Milligan (NCM).
A. Taylor (NCM) 1979.
The present house, which has a large crude inglenook fireplace, appears to be early 18th century and later.
