Summary

A scatter of flint, roof tile and other building materials suggest that this is the site of a small Roman building. Roman coins, pottery and brooches have been found on the site as well as Early Saxon brooches, and medieval and post medieval metalwork, found by metal detecting.

Full description

Winter 1983 to 1984.
On surface of ploughed field, scattered over area about 100m diameter.
Scatter of Roman coarse pottery, mostly Nar Valley types, and one sherd each of large storage jar and coarse mortarium, with one fragment of tegula and one of flue tile.
Within this scatter one concentration of flint rubble: suggests small single building of 3rd to 4th century.
