Summary

Metal-detecting in 1983 and 2017 recovered a Neolithic/Bronze Age scraper; medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman and medieval coins and undatable and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undatable silver ring; a medieval sheet mount, thimble, seal matrix, fragment of chafing dish and an enamelled dress or furniture fitting with a plant motif; a medieval/post-medieval hooked tag and buckle, and a post-medieval buckle.

Full description

January 1983. Metal detecting.
In small triangular field north of Oldmill Lane.
Copper alloy mount with two fixing spikes.
Face decorated with growing plant motif against field of yellow enamel. Very close to the stud were an Edward I Long Cross penny, type 10b, and a Richard I short cross, cut to halfpenny, moneyer Robert.
