Summary

The earthworks of four medieval tofts have been recorded at this site, and are probably associated with other medieval earthworks around the church, see NHER 14583 and NHER 14118. Medieval and post medieval pottery has been found on the site, and metal detecting has recovered Roman coins and metal finds and a medieval coin.

Full description

Spring 1978.
Square ditched enclosure about 50m square - moat? - some ditches extend beyond.
South side has concentration of building flint, clay and ash. Within and on south side green glazed Grimston Ware, Westerwald, 15th to 16th century sherds. Total range 13th to 17th centuries.
To southeast was concentration of large flints and 13th to 17th century sherds, mostly 15th/16th centuries.
NCM 479.978 and 480.978.
(S1) describes site as four tofts with substantial west ditch.
