Summary

Metal-detecting between 1987 and 2012 recovered a large number of Roman finds including coins, pottery and metal finds such as brooches and bracelets. These finds are related to a Roman settlement that straddled the Pye Roman Road, see NHER 44502. Medieval pottery sherds; medieval and post medieval coins and Iron Age, Early to Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval metal finds have also been recovered including a medieval sword scabbard chape.
