Summary

Metal-detecting between 2005 and 2011 has recovered late prehistoric worked flints; medieval roof and floor tile plus a fragment of knapped flint wall facing; Roman, Middle Saxon and medieval to post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and tokens and Roman to post-medieval pottery and metal objects. The metal finds include Roman steelyard weights and a coin blank; Early Saxon brooches, dress accessories and part of a sword scabbard mount; a Middle Saxon brooch; a Late Saxon strap-end and stirrup fragment; medieval dress accessories, a lead ampulla and harness mounts and fittings; medieval/post-medieval purse frames and a buckle; and post-medieval cloth seals, a lead papal bulla, an apothecary's weight, inkwell, thimble and crotal bells.

1 medieval coin.
1 medieval/post-medieval purse bar fragment and 1 candle stick fragment.
1 post-medieval jetton, 1 ?book clasp/mount fragment and 1 buckle plate.
1 undatable casting jet.

1 Late Prehistoric flint borer and 4/5 flint flakes.
6 Roman coins, 12 pottery sherds (greyware), 1 lead steelyard weight (4-unciae), 2 brooches (1 Hinged Dolphin type, 1 Polden Hill type), 1 plate brooch fragment, 1 lock-bolt and 1 spoon fragment.
1 Early Saxon ?Harness ring fragment, 1 brooch fragment (?cruciform type), 1 brooch (great square headed, see (S1)) and 1 sword scabbard fitting.
1 ?Early Saxon early buckle frame.
1 Middle Saxon pottery sherd (almost pimply Ipswich ware) and 1 brooch fragment (Annasate).
1 Late Saxon Stirrup-strap mount (S2) and 1 strap-end (S3).
13 medieval coins (inc 1 tealby and 2 soldini), 9 pottery sherds ( 6 glazed Grimston, 3 unglazed), 1 ceramic roof tile fragment, 1 harness fitting (S4), 1 composite strap-end plate, 1 composite three-part strap-end fragment, 1 strap loop, 2 buckles, 2 buckle frame fragments, 2 composite folding-clasps, 1 thimble, 1 seal matrix, 1 lead spindle whorl 2 buckle frames, 1 buckle pin, 1 buckle plate fragment, 1 ?composite strap-end plate, 1 set of strap-connector plates, 2 rings, 1 harness mount/stud (shield shaped) and 1 lead ampulla part.
