Summary

Metal detecting in 2006 and 2007 recovered a range of objects dating from the Neolithic to the post medieval period. These include a Neolithic polished flint axe, an Early Bronze Age chisel or axe, Iron Age coins, many Roman brooches, a Roman seal box, a small Roman coin hoard, part of a Middle Saxon ansate brooch and the head of a 16th century silver pin. Pieces of Roman and medieval pottery were also found.

Neolithic polished flint axe.
Early Bronze Age chisel or very small axe (S1).
Roman and medieval sherds.
Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post medieval metal objects, including 16th-century silver-gilt pin head.

Twelve Roman coins of which eleven are denaii, perhaps a hoard of the early 3rd century, but in view of possibility that some coins derive from NHER 44084 this is uncertain.
