Summary

Metal-detecting between 2004 and 2019 recovered a Roman pottery and mortarium sherd; Roman, Middle Saxon, and medieval to post-medieval coins, and post-medieval jetton and token; aswell as undated, and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undated metal-working debris and a ring; Roman brooches, a hair pin, and tweezers; an Early Saxon mounts and a strap fitting; Early to Middle Saxon brooches; a Middle Saxon pin and strap-end; a Middle/Late Saxon hanging bowl mount; a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount and strap-end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval seal matrix, harness mount and harness pendant; medieval to post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments, hair pin, copper alloy ring, and furniture fitting; and a post-medieval harness fitting.

Finds include a fragment of an Early Saxon tinned or silvered hanging bowl escutcheon and two Early to Middle Saxon ansate brooches. One of these is probably an import from the Flanders region of France and Belgium.
