Summary

Early Neolithic worked flints; Roman, medieval and post medieval coins; Romano-British, Middle Saxon and post-medieval pottery; Roman tesserae including one created from a ceramic tile and a variety of metalwork including an Early Saxon strap end, a Late Saxon stirrup mount, a medieval lead figurine and book clasp and post-medieval strap fitting and dividers were found by metal-detecting between 1998 and 2012.

Full description

November-December 1998. Metal-detecting.
One medieval coin, one post-medieval coin and a silver medieval buckle were recovered while metal-detecting. The silver buckle consists of a delicate oval frame (18x11mm) with a pin. The frame has a gently thickening outer edge with an angled section and a narrowed offset bar. Both the frame and the pin are gilded, and the frame has traces of iclief decoration.
