According to documentary sources this is the site of a medieval watermill. Metal detecting in 2000 recovered a 2nd century AD brooch from this site.

No trace of mill - stream has often been dredged with a JCB.

Very worn Roman disc brooch with no trace of pin bar lug or catch plate on reverse. Some gilding on front. In centre a ring or red enamel around either a green enamel dot or metal. A slight groove within the outer edge. 2nd century.
