Summary

A Late Bronze Age hoard of four socketed axeheads, a Bronze Age spearhead, Iron Age coins, an Iron Age bracelet, Roman coins, brooches and other metalwork, and medieval and post medieval coins and metalwork, found by metal detecting. Further metal-detecting between 2011 and 2013 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and several other metal objects including a Late Bronze Age chisel, a Roman brooch and bell, a medieval belt mount; a medieval/post-medieval hooked tag and a post-medieval buckle and lead toy plate or dish.

1997. Metal detecting. Context 1.
4 socketed spearheads: 1 in half plus fibre (?wood); 1 complete; 1 near complete, tip missing; 1 complete with solid wood.
At least 2 swords: 2 fragments; 2 fragments; and ?+ 2 fragments (handle with 4 rivets). Depth about 450mm.
Roman coin found by [1] in 1998 during measuring in of find spot.
Visited by A. E. West (NCM) and A. Rogerson (NLA), 30 meters south of find spot on 30 January 1998.
