Summary

Metal-detecting between 1996 and 2013 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman tile fragments; post-medieval brick, glass and clay pipe fragments; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval token and a number of other metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; a Late Saxon Borre-style brooch; medieval and medieval/post-medieval vessel fragments and a post-medieval pin and cloth seal.

Full description

1996. Metal detecting.
Late Saxon disc brooch with Borre style decoration. Central sunken circular field surrounded by square with concave sides. Corners of square extended into loose interlace, all within raised border. Pin lug and catchplate on reverse.
Medieval rim of large, well made copper alloy vessel.
