Metal-detecting between 1996 and 2017 recovered Late prehistoric worked flints, including flakes, a borer, and a scraper; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval, and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman and medieval to post-medieval coins; and Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Roman brooches; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval harness fittings and pendants, a finger ring, brooch, spindle whorl, sword belt fitting, mirror case fragment; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments, and a thimble; and post-medieval knife end-caps, a mount and a furniture fitting.

Full description

April 1996. Metal detecting finds.
Thetford-type: 1 jar rim, 4 body sherds, plus 1 jar rim ?Thetford.
Medieval unglazed: 2 jar and 1 bowl rim, 1 base and 5 body sherds.
Glazed Grimston: 1 body sherd and 1 ?same.
Identified by A. Rogerson (NLA).
Partly burnt medieval harness pendant with attachment stud.
Early post medieval knife end cap, with diagonally ribbed 'crest' and engraved longitudinal lines. Traces of iron tang.
1 post medieval token.
