Summary

Metal detecting between 1995 and 1996 recovered Roman and medieval coins and a number of other metal objects. The metal finds included an Early Saxon small-long brooch and wrist clasp; a Middle Saxon ansate brooch; a square medieval horse harness pendant; a medieval ampulla from Walsingham and a post-medieval gilded mount rosette. The horse harness pendant depicts two lions in combat.

1995. Metal detecting finds.
Medieval sterling imitation penny.
See list in file. Identified by J. Davies (NCM) 20 March 1996.
Early Saxon small-long brooch, (S2) three pierced circular lobes on head-plate. Transverse mouldings and wedge-shaped foot.
Medieval harness pendant (square) with integral loop. Blazon: between two lion combatant a staff fleury ( S1, S3 and S4). Identified by S. Ashley (NAU).
Post medieval gilded harness mount rosette.

1995. Metal detecting finds.
Middle Saxon ansate brooch, circular terminal and bow. Other terminal missing. Terminal has border, of double rings and dot (eight) with white metal coating. Classy! Single lug on reverse and iron.
Medieval Walsingham ampulla. Crown and lis/phial.
Two Roman coins.
Medieval penny.
